Virtuals Opens iOS AI Trading Beta
- Virtuals Protocol launched closed-beta iOS access to its Virtuals App, providing invited users with a personal AI to monitor markets and execute trades.
- Users configure the AI using natural language instructions, specifying capital budgets and permissions for automated tasks without requiring app presence.
- Virtuals has not announced a wider public release date or published detailed information regarding its custody model.
Virtuals Protocol has opened closed-beta access to its Virtuals App on iOS, giving invited users a personal AI that can monitor markets, manage a wallet and help execute trades within limits set by the user.
The beta expands Virtuals’ consumer-facing AI tools by allowing agents to keep watching markets and act when predefined conditions are met. Access remains invitation-only, with no date announced for a wider rollout.
Users Set Budgets and Permissions Before Agents Trade
Users can give the AI trading instructions in natural language, specify how much capital it can use and define the permissions attached to a task.
The agent can then continue monitoring markets and other signals without requiring the user to remain inside the app.
Virtuals demonstrated one instruction directing an agent to open a $1,000 leveraged position if Ether moved 2% within five minutes and later close it after a specified social media post. The example was presented as a demonstration of turning conversational instructions into automated trading rules.
Butler Combines Chat, Wallet, and Market Monitoring
The app centers on Butler, Virtuals’ personal AI assistant. Apple’s App Store listing says Butler can remember conversations, monitor prices and other signals, move funds through a built-in wallet and help execute market actions directly from chats.
Trading functions can also operate inside group conversations, allowing users to discuss assets while agents research markets, monitor wallets and respond to predefined conditions.
Trading Beta Remains Limited to Invited Users
Virtuals says the app builds on earlier work involving Agent Commerce Protocol, EconomyOS and previous agent trading experiments.
The iPhone app is already available through Apple’s App Store and requires iOS 17 or later, but the trading-focused beta remains restricted to invited users.
Virtuals has not published detailed information on its custody model or whether every automated trade requires additional confirmation after a user sets the initial permissions.
