Tether Adds RedStone to Speed Up Tokenized-Asset Exits

Tether’s Hadron platform is adding RedStone’s pricing and settlement tools to help to lend platforms cash out eligible tokenized collateral before issuers complete redemptions.
The Nov. 5 partnership gives issuers access to price feeds, net-asset-value data and RedStone Settle. Its same-day settlement model relies on verified liquidity providers paying first and handling redemption afterward.
Liquidity Providers Pay First and Wait for Redemption
Putting a fund share or bond on a blockchain does not automatically make it easy to cash out. The token may move quickly, while the issuer still needs days or longer to process a redemption.
That becomes a problem when the asset backs a loan. If a borrower’s collateral falls below the required level, a lending platform needs a buyer who can supply funds promptly rather than wait through the issuer’s withdrawal window.
RedStone Settle uses auctions to connect those positions with verified liquidity providers. They compete to take over the collateral, with the winning provider supplying liquid assets to repay the loan. The highest valid bid wins, and large positions can be divided among several providers.
The provider then holds the token and follows the issuer’s normal redemption process. In return for taking on that wait, it can earn the difference between its purchase price and the amount received later.
Loan repayment and collateral release happen within one blockchain transaction. If a step fails, the whole transaction is reversed, preventing a partially completed settlement.
Price Feeds Help Lenders Value the Collateral
Hadron lets institutions issue and manage tokens representing assets such as commodities, debt, and fund interests. The collaboration adds RedStone’s market-price feeds and net-asset-value feeds to the tools available to those issuers.
These feeds give lending applications information for valuing collateral and identifying when a position needs attention. But a valuation alone cannot supply the money needed to close a loan.
RedStone co-founder Marcin Kazmierczak said:
“A priced token with near-instant exit liquidity can serve as collateral. A token without either just sits in a wallet.”
The partnership combines those two functions: data to assess a position and a settlement mechanism to find a buyer when it needs to be closed.
Direct Holder Exits Remain a Planned Feature
RedStone also describes a model for holders who want to exit voluntarily. They would set the maximum discount they are willing to accept, and liquidity providers would quote against that limit.
However, direct near-instant redemptions for holders remain on RedStone Settle’s roadmap. No rollout date is given for that feature.
Participation also requires onboarding and business verification. Providers must meet each issuer’s identity-checking and approved-wallet requirements, while Settle excludes participants located, resident or incorporated in the United States.
However, the announcements do not name eligible Hadron assets, specify committed liquidity or give a standard exit discount. Those details will determine which holders can use the arrangement and how much an early payout could cost.
