Amundi Brings STOXX Europe 600 Fund Shares to Ethereum
- Amundi launched a tokenized share class of its European equity index fund on Ethereum.
- The Nov. 5 launch utilizes CACEIS infrastructure and remains integrated with existing operations.
- Subscription terms, including eligible investors and minimum investments, remain unspecified in the announcement.
Amundi has launched a tokenized share class of its Amundi Core STOXX Europe 600 equity index fund on public Ethereum, extending its blockchain offerings beyond cash-management products.
The Nov. 5 launch uses CACEIS infrastructure and sits within the fund’s existing operations. Investors can still access the fund through conventional distribution channels.
European Equity Exposure Joins Amundi’s Tokenized Range
The new class represents shares in an established European stock fund. Investors gain exposure to the fund’s portfolio through units issued in digital form on Ethereum.
Its benchmark, the STOXX Europe 600, covers 600 companies across 17 European countries and 11 industries. The index spans large, midsize and smaller companies, with markets including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, and Germany.
The tokenized class is part of an existing fund holding about €22.4 billion as of Nov. 3. The fund uses physical replication, holding securities to track the index’s performance.
The benchmark includes the value of dividends reinvested after tax, so its return reflects both share-price movements and dividend income.
The fund is part of Amundi Index Solutions, a Luxembourg investment company governed by the European Union’s UCITS fund framework. It aims to follow the benchmark through rising and falling markets, keeping the difference between the fund’s returns and the index’s performance as small as possible. Amundi said:
“With this launch, we extend tokenisation beyond cash management solutions into index investing […].”
CACEIS Supports Issuance Within the Existing Fund Model
CACEIS, the asset-servicing group, provides the technology and infrastructure used to tokenize the fund units. The blockchain-based class remains integrated with the existing fund, alongside its traditional distribution arrangements.
For Amundi, the next step is to develop a wider range of tokenized funds serving institutional clients and digital platforms. It sees potential for automated administration, faster settlement and clearer transaction records as that infrastructure develops.
The practical subscription terms also remain unspecified in the announcement, including eligible investors, participating platforms and the minimum investment.
Earlier Cash-Fund Launch Attracted a €100 Million Investment
Amundi and CACEIS introduced a tokenized share class of the Amundi Funds Cash EUR money market fund in November 2025. Its first transaction took place on Nov. 4 that year, with conventional and blockchain-based distribution operating alongside each other.
For that product, CACEIS provided investor digital wallets and an order platform handling subscriptions and redemptions. The arrangement connected the blockchain record with the process investors use to put money into a fund or take it out.
The partners subsequently added stablecoin subscriptions to their cash-fund work. On July 1, 2026, Crédit Agricole announced its EURXT euro stablecoin alongside a first subscription using the token into an Amundi money market fund.
Institutional participation followed. On Oct. 8, Crédit Agricole Assurances announced a €100 million investment in the tokenized Amundi Funds Cash EUR class, with Amundi managing the fund and CACEIS providing custody and digital infrastructure.
