Tesla’s Bitcoin holdings gained roughly $122.6 million in market value over one week as Bitcoin rallied, without the company adding to its position. The automaker continues to hold 11,509 BTC, according to its latest regulatory filing. The increase is unrealized and does not represent cash profit from a Bitcoin sale.
Bitcoin Rally Pushes Tesla Holdings Near $1B
Onchain data attributed to Arkham Intelligence valued Tesla’s Bitcoin holdings at about $994.9 million during the recent rally, up from roughly $872.3 million a week earlier. Bitcoin’s approximately 14% weekly rise drove the increase.
At one point, Bitcoin traded above $86,000, putting Tesla’s position close to the $1 billion mark. The value changes with Bitcoin’s market price.
Tesla’s June 30 filing reported the same 11,509 BTC balance recorded at the end of 2025. The company listed an acquisition cost of $386 million for those holdings.
Tesla Has Not Added to Its Bitcoin Position
Tesla first disclosed a $1.5 billion Bitcoin investment in early 2021. It later reduced the position through two major sales, including a roughly $936 million disposal in the second quarter of 2022.
Arkham has identified Tesla’s remaining holdings onchain and said the company has not bought or sold Bitcoin since adjustments to its position in 2022. Tesla’s SEC filings confirm that its reported Bitcoin balance remained at 11,509 BTC through June 2026.
$122M Increase Is Not Realized Profit
The $122.6 million figure measures the change in the market value of Tesla’s Bitcoin position over the reported one-week period. Tesla would generally realize proceeds if it sold or otherwise disposed of the Bitcoin.
Accounting treatment is separate. Tesla measures its digital assets at fair value, meaning Bitcoin price changes can affect reported earnings through mark-to-market gains or losses.
At June 30, Tesla reported $674 million in digital assets, down from $1.008 billion at the end of 2025. Its next financial filing will reflect the value of its holdings at the applicable reporting date rather than the temporary value reached during Bitcoin’s latest rally.
