24X Bermuda completed a Bitcoin spot trade with Standard Chartered and Wintermute, adding another liquidity provider to its institutional cryptocurrency rollout. The Oct. 19 announcement follows an earlier trade with Standard Chartered and Cumberland DRW.

Wintermute Provides Liquidity for Bitcoin Trade

Standard Chartered acted as liquidity taker, accepting liquidity supplied by Wintermute. The transaction took place under 24X’s existing partnership with the bank.

24X did not disclose the amount of Bitcoin traded, the execution price or the transaction’s value. It also did not identify the exact execution date or provide settlement details.

24X Follows September Trade With Another Liquidity Provider

The transaction follows 24X’s inaugural Bitcoin spot trade, announced Sept. 1. Standard Chartered also acted as liquidity taker in that transaction, while Cumberland DRW supplied liquidity.

24X offers cryptocurrency spot and foreign exchange trading through a shared technology platform. The company says its cryptocurrency activities fall under Bermuda Monetary Authority oversight, while its broader institutional offering includes currency forwards, swaps, and metals.

Standard Chartered Builds on Institutional Crypto Trading

Standard Chartered launched institutional Bitcoin and Ether spot trading through its UK branch in July 2025. That service integrated cryptocurrency trading into its existing platforms and allowed clients to use familiar foreign exchange interfaces.

The bank’s launch announcement said customers could settle with a custodian of their choice, including its own custody service. The offering targeted institutional clients such as companies, investors, and asset managers.

Standard Chartered subsequently announced an expansion into the United Arab Emirates on Sept. 3, 2026, adding institutional Bitcoin and Ether execution through its Dubai International Financial Centre operation alongside existing custody capabilities.
