CME to Launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures on Oct. 19
- CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on Oct. 19 to expand its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup.
- The contracts will be offered in standard and Micro sizes and trade within CME’s expanded around-the-clock marketplace.
- The launch remains pending regulatory review, making the Oct. 19 date planned rather than final.
CME Group plans to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on Oct. 19, adding two more assets to its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup. The contracts will be offered in standard and Micro sizes, subject to regulatory review. The products will trade within CME’s expanded around-the-clock crypto derivatives marketplace and provide price exposure without requiring traders to hold BCH or UNI directly.
CME Offers Standard and Micro Contracts
The standard Bitcoin Cash futures contract will represent 250 BCH, while the Micro version will cover 25 BCH. Their respective tickers will be BCA and MCH. For Uniswap, the standard contract will represent 10,000 UNI, while Micro Uniswap futures will cover 1,000 UNI.
The contracts will trade under the UNI and MUN tickers. All four contracts will also be eligible for block trading.
Contracts Will Settle Against CME CF Rates
CME’s single-asset crypto futures are U.S. dollar-denominated and financially settled against their respective CME CF Reference Rates. The benchmark rates are produced with CF Benchmarks using pricing data from constituent crypto markets.
Financial settlement allows traders to gain or hedge BCH and UNI exposure without exchanging the underlying tokens at expiration. CME said the launch remains pending regulatory review, so the Oct. 19 date is planned rather than final.
CME Cites Demand for Broader Crypto Hedging
Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group’s global head of cryptocurrency products, said customers are seeking more regulated tools for managing digital-asset price risk.
“As crypto markets continue to mature, participants require broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset related price risk.”
CME Continues Expanding Altcoin Futures
CME already offers single-asset futures tied to Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui. The exchange reported average daily crypto futures and options volume of 279,800 contracts, representing $8.3 billion in notional value, during the first half of 2026. Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap will extend that lineup if the planned October launch proceeds following regulatory review.
