Strategy Sells Out $250 Bitcoin-Themed Jordans but Store Won’t Take Bitcoin
Strategy has sold out a limited run of $250 Bitcoin-themed Air Jordans, extending its Bitcoin branding into footwear. The catch is that Strategy’s online store does not list Bitcoin as a payment option, even though the company holds more than 845,000 BTC on its balance sheet.
Strategy Lists Custom Air Jordans for $250
The Strategy Store lists the shoes as “Strategy Nike Air Jordans” at $250. The mid-top design uses an Air Jordan 1-style silhouette with Strategy and Bitcoin-themed branding.
Strategy added its own branding and Bitcoin-focused color scheme to the shoes. The company’s store homepage promotes the limited-edition merchandise with the line “Bitcoin orange looks good on everything.”
The product page listed nine sizes, ranging from 6.5 to 14, but all were marked sold out by Sept. 8. Strategy has not disclosed how many pairs were produced, making the scale of the sellout unclear.
Bitcoin Is Missing From Payment Options
Strategy’s store does not list Bitcoin as a payment option despite the company’s Bitcoin-focused branding and treasury strategy. Buyers instead use the conventional payment methods listed at checkout. The shoes are merchandise rather than a Bitcoin-linked financial product. Strategy has not announced plans to add crypto payments to its online store.
Strategy Holds 845,050 Bitcoin
Strategy reported holding approximately 845,050 BTC as of Sept. 7, according to an SEC filing published Sept. 8. The company acquired those holdings for an aggregate $63.73 billion, including fees and expenses, at an average price of about $75,412 per Bitcoin.
Strategy made no Bitcoin purchases or sales between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7. During the same period, it spent $176.3 million repurchasing STRC preferred stock as part of its broader capital-management program.
The company’s store also sells other Bitcoin-focused merchandise, including a $50 Bitcoin Strategy Game, alongside Strategy apparel and accessories.
Sneaker Run Size Remains Undisclosed
The sold-out listing confirms that none of the advertised sizes remained available, but Strategy has not released sales numbers or production quantities. It is therefore unclear whether the drop involved dozens, hundreds or more pairs.
The store continues to display the $250 Air Jordans despite their sold-out status. Strategy has not announced whether it plans to restock the shoes or introduce another Bitcoin-themed sneaker release.
