Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has fueled speculation that the company could resume buying Bitcoin after posting “We’re ₿ack” alongside a chart of its Bitcoin acquisition history on August 30. The message did not disclose a purchase amount or confirm that Strategy had acquired additional BTC.

A new acquisition would be Strategy’s first confirmed Bitcoin purchase since June 22. Strategy’s official ledger shows that purchase added 520 BTC, followed by several Bitcoin sales that later reduced its holdings to 840,447 BTC.

Saylor Post Revives Bitcoin Buying Expectations

Saylor has regularly posted Strategy’s Bitcoin acquisition chart ahead of company disclosures, leading some market participants to interpret his latest message as a possible signal of renewed buying. However, the August 30 post itself only said “We’re ₿ack” and did not state that a transaction had occurred.

Strategy’s last confirmed Bitcoin purchase added 520 BTC for about $34.9 million at an average price of $67,068 per coin. Its ledger subsequently recorded four sales totaling 6,916 BTC between late June and August 10.

Strategy Holds 840,447 Bitcoin

Strategy reported no Bitcoin purchases or sales for the week ended August 23. At that point, the company held 840,447 BTC acquired for an aggregate $63.36 billion, with an average acquisition price of $75,385 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.

The company has also increased its dollar liquidity during the pause in Bitcoin buying. Strategy reported a $5.10 billion USD Reserve and established a separate $1.59 billion USD Cash pool that can be used for purposes including Bitcoin acquisitions, securities repurchases and other treasury needs.

New Bitcoin Purchase Has Not Been Confirmed

Bitcoin has recovered to the high-$70,000 range, above Strategy’s reported average acquisition price of $75,385. The price recovery and Strategy’s available cash provide context for speculation that Bitcoin purchases could resume.

As of the latest available Strategy disclosure, however, no new Bitcoin purchase has been confirmed. Any resumption of buying would require a subsequent company filing, ledger update or other official disclosure to establish the amount and timing of the transaction.
