Upbit Listings Send Four Tokens Higher as ETHGas Gains 11%
South Korean crypto exchange Upbit has announced new Bitcoin and USDT trading pairs for Biconomy, Bubblemaps, Nillion and ETHGas. All four tokens were trading higher following the listing notice, with ETHGas leading the initial gains.
Trading for BICO, BMT, NIL and GWEI is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Korea Standard Time on August 21. Upbit did not announce Korean won trading pairs for the four assets.
ETHGas Leads Gains Following Upbit Notice
ETHGas was up 11.75%, while Bubblemaps gained 7.48%, Biconomy climbed 7.35% and Nillion advanced 5.11% at the time of reporting. The figures reflect price moves across existing markets rather than trading on the new Upbit pairs.
Trading activity also increased across the tokens. ETHGas recorded a 197.7% increase in 24-hour volume to $11.1 million, while Biconomy volume rose 46.7% to $34.5 million.
Upbit Adds BTC and USDT Trading Pairs
The listings expand access to the four tokens on one of South Korea’s largest crypto exchanges. Upbit said deposits and withdrawals would become available within two hours of its announcement, subject to support for the specified blockchain networks. Upbit warned users:
“Deposits and withdrawals are supported only through the networks specified in this announcement. Always check the network before depositing.”
The exchange will also apply temporary restrictions when trading begins. Buy orders will be limited for approximately five minutes, while sell orders priced at least 10% below the previous day’s closing price will face restrictions during the same period.
Initial Trading Limited to Certain Order Types
For roughly two hours after the market opens, Upbit will permit only limit orders. The measures are part of the exchange’s opening procedures for newly supported assets.
The four tokens were already trading on other exchanges before the Upbit announcement, and their initial gains were recorded before trading began on the new Upbit markets. Whether those moves persist after the pairs open will depend on subsequent trading activity.
