Treasury Firms Add Ethereum, Solana and Bitcoin as September Volatility Persists

Publicly traded crypto treasury companies continued accumulating Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin in September despite renewed volatility across digital assets. BitMine Immersion Technologies, DeFi Development Corp. and Strive each disclosed additional purchases or treasury growth on Sept. 14 as Bitcoin remained below its early-month high and Treasury yields stayed elevated ahead of the Federal Reserve’s next rate decision.

BitMine Adds 27,180 Ethereum

BitMine Immersion Technologies acquired another 27,180 ETH during the week ended Sept. 13, increasing its holdings to 5,956,378 ETH. The company valued the position at roughly $15 billion using an Ethereum price of $2,513.

BitMine said its holdings represented about 4.9% of Ethereum’s approximately 122 million ETH supply at the time. It also reported 5.07 million ETH staked as of Sept. 7, representing about 85% of its Ethereum holdings at the time. Chairman Tom Lee said:

“Over the past week, we acquired 27,180 ETH.”

BitMine says it has purchased Ethereum every week since beginning its ETH treasury strategy in June 2025. Lee’s broader market outlook remains a management view rather than a guarantee of future Ethereum performance.

DeFi Development Expands Solana Treasury

DeFi Development Corp. said its treasury increased by 55,491 SOL to approximately 2.39 million SOL and SOL equivalents. The roughly 2% increase since Aug. 27 reflected both additional purchases and SOL generated through staking and validator operations.

The company also established a $300 million at-the-market program for its CHAD perpetual preferred stock. DeFi Development said it intends to use net proceeds primarily for additional SOL purchases, although establishing the program does not require the company to issue shares or raise the full amount.

Strive Reaches 25,000 Bitcoin

Bitcoin treasury company Strive purchased 469 BTC between Sept. 8 and Sept. 11 for about $36.6 million. Its average acquisition price was approximately $77,954 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.

The purchase increased Strive’s holdings from 24,531 BTC to exactly 25,000 BTC. Its filing also showed SATA perpetual preferred shares outstanding increased during the week, while cash and cash equivalents stood at $204.2 million as of Sept. 11.

Treasury Buying Continues Through Market Swings

The purchases came during an unsettled September for crypto markets. Bitcoin traded near $77,600 on Sept. 14, below its Sept. 4 three-month high of $82,163, while Treasury yields rose and markets awaited the Federal Reserve’s next rate decision.

Not every large treasury company kept accumulating. Strategy reported no Bitcoin purchases or sales for the second consecutive week, leaving its holdings at approximately 845,050 BTC while it directed cash toward preferred-stock repurchases.

The contrasting moves show that digital-asset treasury strategies remain active but are being financed and managed differently as crypto prices and broader financial markets fluctuate.
