Coin Insider Acquires 7Bitcoins.com in 2023
Updated: Aug. 21, 2026
Coin Insider announced its acquisition of 7Bitcoins, a cryptocurrency news and guides website, in 2023. The deal formed part of an earlier period of expansion for the publication and took place under its previous ownership.
When we acquired Coin Insider in January 2026, we inherited that history alongside the responsibility of deciding what the publication should become next. Coin Insider now publishes from CoinInsider.org.
The 7Bitcoins.com domain directs readers to the CoinInsider.org homepage and no longer operates as a standalone publication.
Coin Insider Announced the 7Bitcoins Acquisition in 2023
Coin Insider’s October 2023 announcement described 7Bitcoins as a cryptocurrency publication covering news, product reviews and educational articles. Coin Insider presented the acquisition as a way to broaden its coverage and bring the two sites under one ownership structure.
At the time, the deal was framed around growth. The announcement highlighted the potential to combine audiences, expand coverage and build a wider resource for cryptocurrency readers. It did not disclose a purchase price or set out the practical details of how the sites, teams, or archives would be integrated.
This page records what was announced in 2023 rather than describing Coin Insider’s current business.
“We are keeping the record available because it is part of the site’s history. It would be easy to remove old announcements once ownership changes. We do not think that is the right approach.”
The 2023 acquisition remains part of Coin Insider’s archive. At the same time, it should not be confused with the work now underway at Coin Insider.
Coin Insider Began Rebuilding Under New Ownership in 2026
We acquired Coin Insider in January 2026. The transaction was separate from the 2023 acquisition of 7Bitcoins.
We took on a recognized crypto publication with a long history, but also one that needed careful rebuilding. Previous problems, including security issues, manipulative SEO practices and an overly commercial approach to content, had weakened the trust a publication needs to earn from its readers.
That work could not be solved with a fresh logo or a new coat of paint. It meant reassessing how the site was structured, how stories were sourced and what standards should apply before an article is published. It also meant being clear about what came before us rather than pretending it did not happen.
Our aim is simple: make Coin Insider a publication readers can use with confidence. We want reporting to be clear, sourced and useful.
“We do not run ads or promotional content, and we do not let commercial relationships influence the stories we publish.”
CoinInsider.org Marks a New Editorial Chapter
Moving from CoinInsider.com to CoinInsider.org was more than a domain change. It gave the publication a fresh technical foundation and a clear distinction between Coin Insider’s current operation and the practices that came before it.
A domain suffix does not make a newsroom trustworthy on its own. The work behind it does. The move formed part of a broader rebuild focused on stronger security, clearer standards and a site readers can use with confidence.
Today, Coin Insider covers markets, business, regulation, technology, and crypto guides. We rely on primary sources wherever possible, including company filings, regulator statements, court documents, official announcements and on-chain data.
Coin Insider Keeps the 2023 Record Available
7Bitcoins is no longer maintained as a separate editorial brand. Readers who visit its former domain are directed to CoinInsider.org, where Coin Insider now publishes its current work.
This page remains online because the 2023 acquisition is still part of the publication’s story. The update makes clear what has changed since then:
“Coin Insider has new ownership, a new primary domain and a different editorial direction.”
We believe an archive should show the full picture, not only the convenient parts. The original announcement remains available as a record of the 2023 acquisition. But this update explains where Coin Insider stands today.
