BitGo Analyst Target Falls to $10.35 After Q2 Margin Pressure
- BitGo Holdings carries a consensus analyst price target of about $10.35 following target cuts issued after its second-quarter results.
- Rosenblatt, Wedbush, Citi, Mizuho, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods lowered their respective price targets for BitGo.
- BitGo reported $4.33 billion in second-quarter revenue, representing a 79.6% increase from a year earlier.
BitGo Holdings (NYSE: BTGO) carries a consensus analyst price target of about $10.35 based on the latest estimates tracked by Simply Wall St. Several analysts lowered their targets after BitGo’s second-quarter results showed strong revenue growth but weaker profitability. The revisions show greater caution around BitGo’s near-term earnings outlook, even as several firms maintained positive or neutral ratings.
Analysts Cut Targets After Q2 Results
Rosenblatt cut its BitGo target to $10 from $15, while Wedbush reduced its target to $8 from $15. Citi lowered its target to $10 from $17, Mizuho to $11 from $14, and Cantor Fitzgerald to $13 from $15. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods later lowered its target to $10 from $12 while maintaining a Market Perform rating.
The reductions point to a common concern around BitGo’s near-term profitability. Several firms retained positive or neutral ratings, suggesting that the cuts do not necessarily reflect weaker expectations for the business itself. The lower targets indicate reduced valuation expectations following the quarter, while BitGo continues efforts to improve margins.
Revenue Climbs as Profitability Weakens
BitGo reported $4.33 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 79.6% from a year earlier. The company said digital asset sales and Stablecoin-as-a-Service activity contributed to the increase.
Profitability moved in the opposite direction. BitGo recorded a $19 million net loss, compared with $38.3 million of net income a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA fell to a $4.2 million loss from a $3 million profit.
An $18.8 million unrealized digital-asset loss also affected GAAP results. The adjusted EBITDA loss shows that weaker profitability was not limited to the unrealized digital-asset loss recorded under GAAP.
Client and Platform Activity Continue to Grow
BitGo’s client count increased 26.2% year over year to 5,833. Normalized assets on platform rose 31%, while normalized assets staked increased 36%.
The figures show that BitGo continues to expand its customer and asset base. The challenge is converting that growth into stronger financial results. Management has therefore combined expansion with cost reductions to improve operating performance.
CEO Mike Belshe highlighted the company’s growth and cost efforts after the quarter, saying, “We grew assets on platform, deepened client relationships, streamlined our cost structure.”
BitGo Targets $15M in Annualized Savings
BitGo expects its recent operating changes to produce about $15 million in annualized cash savings. The company also authorized a $50 million share repurchase program.
BitGo ended June with $159 million in cash and no corporate-level debt, giving it financial flexibility as it works to improve margins.
