Mirae Asset Securities’ Hong Kong unit completed an issuance of tokenized funding notes on Solana for eligible institutional investors on Oct.28. The transaction extends its existing structured-products business into blockchain-based distribution while keeping access restricted to professional investors.

Six-Month Notes Issued Under Existing Programme

The U.S. dollar-denominated floating-rate notes were issued in Hong Kong under Mirae Asset Securities’ $3 billion Guaranteed Structured Note Programme. The programme figure reflects the broader issuance framework, not the amount raised in this transaction.

A floating-rate note pays interest that adjusts according to its contractual terms, typically by reference to a benchmark. Mirae’s announcement did not identify the benchmark, coupon, or size of this issuance.

The notes were privately placed with eligible professional investors as defined under Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance. Mirae said they had not been authorized by or registered with Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission.

Mirae Handles Issuance and Payments

Mirae used its own digital infrastructure to manage token issuance, payments and ongoing administration, with Solana providing the blockchain. Investors hold debt securities whose interest and repayment terms are governed by the note documents.

Kelly Sohn, Mirae’s head of digital assets, said expanding structured notes into digital channels formed part of the company’s broader digital-asset strategy. Mirae said the transaction provides a model it could extend to other structured products, but did not announce dates or terms for additional offerings.

Marketnode Provides Institutional Distribution

Singapore-based Marketnode acted as the authorized distributor, while the Solana Foundation supported the transaction. Marketnode identifies Euroclear, HSBC, SGX Group and Temasek among its backers.

Marketnode’s Gateway platform supports issuance, distribution, and servicing of tokenized assets, including funds, credit and structured products. The company added compatibility with Solana, Stellar and XRP Ledger in July 2025, extending support across Ethereum-compatible and other blockchain networks.

Andrew Scott, Marketnode’s head of digital assets, described distribution as the next stage of tokenization. He said the opportunity was to connect established financial products with new institutional investors and channels.
