Securitize Announces Stellar Expansion for Tokenized Financial Assets
- Securitize plans to integrate its asset-management infrastructure with the Stellar blockchain.
- The company announced this planned network expansion on October 28 in Lisbon.
- Securitize has not specified an implementation date or which supported assets apply.
Securitize plans to connect its issuance and asset-management infrastructure to Stellar, giving institutional asset managers another blockchain option for tokenized financial products.
The company announced the planned integration on Oct. 28 at Meridian 2026, the Stellar Development Foundation’s annual conference, in Lisbon. Securitize will identify supported assets later and has not given an implementation date.
Integration Would Expand Asset Managers’ Blockchain Options
The planned connection would support issuing and managing tokenized financial assets on Stellar. Securitize said its institutional partners could select the network according to their operational and distribution needs.
Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s co-founder and CEO, said the company wanted to:
“[…] bring Securitize’s regulated infrastructure to an ecosystem that is already helping drive the adoption of tokenized financial products.”
Securitize reported approximately $5 billion in tokenized securities across its platform as of September 30. Its asset-management partners include Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR, and VanEck.
Securitize Provides Securities Services Alongside Tokenization
Securitize’s regulated operations run through separate subsidiaries. In the United States, these include Securitize Markets, an SEC-registered broker-dealer; Securitize Transfer Agent, an SEC-registered transfer agent; and Securitize Capital, an SEC-registered investment adviser.
Its European securities business includes Securitize Europe Brokerage and Markets, a Spanish investment firm supervised by the country’s securities regulator, the CNMV.
That structure combines the technology used to represent financial assets on a blockchain with services for issuing and administering securities. The Stellar integration is intended to expand the networks available to institutions using that infrastructure.
Stellar Lets Issuers Approve Holders and Freeze Assets
Stellar supports asset controls that let issuers limit holdings to approved accounts and revoke an account’s authorization. Issuers set the criteria for approval, allowing access restrictions to be built into how an asset operates.
The network also offers optional freezing and clawback controls. Clawback allows an issuer to remove previously issued assets from a holder’s account. These are existing Stellar capabilities; Securitize has not specified which configurations its future products would use.
Stellar already hosts tokenized funds from Franklin Templeton and WisdomTree. Securitize’s first supported asset and the date its connection becomes operational remain unannounced.
