Crypto.com and OG.com launched crypto perpetual contracts for eligible U.S. traders on Oct. 27, offering up to 5x leverage through a federally regulated derivatives framework. The rollout gives qualifying customers another way to take long or short crypto positions without periodically replacing expiring contracts.

Perpetuals Roll Out Across App and Exchange

The companies said distribution includes retail customers using the Crypto.com App and institutional or advanced users of the Crypto.com Exchange. The rollout began on announcement day, although the release did not detail all eligibility requirements or geographic restrictions.

The contracts have no expiration date and support trading around the clock. Available features include take-profit and stop-loss orders, alongside isolated margin, which assigns collateral to individual positions.

A perpetual contract provides exposure to an asset’s price without giving the trader ownership of that asset. Long positions benefit when prices rise, while short positions benefit when prices fall; adverse movements produce losses.

Registered Entities Provide Trading Access

Crypto.com said it recently registered as an introducing broker with the National Futures Association to offer access to the products. Foris DAX Inc. holds the introducing-broker registration.

North American Derivatives Exchange, operating under the OG.com and Crypto.com Derivatives North America brands, is identified as a CFTC-registered designated contract market and derivatives clearing organization. Registered futures commission merchants provide intermediary services, including handling customer funds and margin for derivatives trading.

These registrations concern the entities providing trading, clearing and intermediary services. They do not remove the financial risks associated with leveraged positions, which can magnify losses as well as gains.

Funding Payments Continue During Fee Promotion

Crypto.com clears that the eligible App users receive zero trading fees on available perpetual contracts from Oct. 27 through Nov. 26. Standard funding payments remain applicable during the promotion.

Funding payments are periodic transfers between traders holding long and short positions. They help keep perpetual-contract prices aligned with the underlying market and are separate from trading fees.

Positions can remain open without an expiry date, but insufficient margin can trigger forced closure. Traders can also choose to close their positions before that occurs.
