Source and Freshness
All technical indicators use the same XRP market pair as the Market Price Chart. The source pair, latest completed candle and calculation time are displayed beneath the summary.

All 100 billion XRP were created when the XRP Ledger began. Since then, the total supply has gradually declined because the XRP used for transaction costs is permanently destroyed.

How XRP Supply Metrics Are Calculated
XRP supply figures come from several sources. The XRP Ledger records the amount of XRP that currently exists, Ripple reports its holdings and escrowed XRP, and a market-data provider supplies the reported circulating supply.
Keeping these figures separate makes it easier to compare ledger supply, reported circulation and Ripple’s disclosed position without treating them as interchangeable.
LEDGER SUPPLY
Read the Latest Validated Ledger
Use the latest validated XRP Ledger to determine the current XRP supply. All 100 billion XRP were created when the ledger launched, and the total has gradually declined as transaction costs permanently destroy small amounts of XRP.
CIRCULATION AND HOLDINGS
Keep Reported Supply Figures Separate
Use one named market-data provider for reported circulating supply, while Ripple’s directly held XRP and on-ledger escrow come from its latest official disclosure. These figures measure different parts of XRP’s supply and should remain separate.
DERIVED METRICS
Calculate Burns and Supply Shares
Calculate permanently destroyed XRP by comparing the current ledger supply with the original 100 billion XRP. The reported circulating share is calculated by comparing reported circulating supply with the current ledger supply.
Escrow Releases
When XRP is released from escrow, it becomes available to the recipient. That does not automatically mean it has been sold or entered market circulation, and XRP returned to escrow should remain separate from the amount released.
Account Reserves
Some XRP must be held in reserve to maintain XRP Ledger accounts and ledger objects. Reserved XRP remains part of the total supply and may become available again if the relevant reserve requirement is removed.
