Uniswap Labs has purchased PONS tokens after the Robinhood Chain launchpad generated $5.95 million in fees over 24 hours.

Pons disclosed the purchase on September 3 and described it as supporting “long-term alignment.” Neither side disclosed how many tokens Uniswap Labs acquired, the price paid, when the transaction occurred or whether the tokens were bought on the open market or received through an allocation.

Pons Collects $28.83M in Fees Over Seven Days

Pons recorded $5.95 million in 24-hour fees and $28.83 million over seven days during the surge. Its 30-day fee total reached $40.84 million.

Nearly 25,000 tokens were launched through Pons on September 2 as daily trading volume reached $544 million. The activity also helped Robinhood Chain collect about $4 million in fees in one day, roughly one-fifth of what the network had generated since launching in July.

Pons uses part of its retained protocol fees to buy PONS and send the tokens to a burn address. Its documentation says an automated TWAP uses 80% of protocol fees for the buyback program, while 20% is allocated to infrastructure and team expansion.

Uniswap Labs Also Operates Pools.Trade Launchpad

Uniswap Labs separately operates Pools.trade, a Robinhood Chain token launchpad that launched on August 5.

Pools.trade allows users to create and trade tokens through Uniswap liquidity pools without charging a separate launchpad fee.

Pons remains an independent platform. Uniswap Labs’ PONS purchase does not amount to an acquisition, and neither side has announced a change in ownership or control.

PONS Purchase Terms and Position Size Remain Undisclosed

Robinhood Chain has also become a significant source of Uniswap activity, with recent data showing about $901.5 million of Uniswap v4’s $1.6 billion in trading volume across supported chains came from the network.

Uniswap Labs has not disclosed the size or terms of its PONS position. Neither company has announced any broader commercial agreement beyond the token purchase.
