AsiaStrategy (Nasdaq: SORA) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Plume Network to explore a joint venture focused on tokenizing and distributing financial assets across Asia and other markets outside the U.S.. The proposed venture would combine Plume’s tokenization infrastructure with AsiaStrategy and Sora Ventures’ regional capital markets network.
No tokenized product has launched under the agreement. Product structure, asset selection and rollout timing remain under discussion, while any joint venture would require definitive agreements, internal approvals and applicable regulatory clearances.
Venture Targets Asian Capital Markets
Under the proposed structure, Plume would provide tokenization infrastructure, technical expertise and access to its existing regulatory and compliance infrastructure. AsiaStrategy and the wider Sora Ventures network would contribute asset origination, distribution, and capital markets access in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
The companies plan to begin by pairing established asset classes with compliant onchain distribution. They have not disclosed which securities or other financial assets would be tokenized first.
Plume Provides Tokenization Infrastructure
Plume operates infrastructure for issuing, distributing and managing tokenized real-world assets. The company says its regulatory framework includes licensed entities and an SEC-registered transfer agent, although the exact structure used by any AsiaStrategy venture would depend on the relevant jurisdiction and product.
AsiaStrategy Chairman and Co-CEO Jason Fang said the company expects tokenization to become a more common way for financial assets to be issued and held. He said combining Plume’s infrastructure with regional issuer and investor relationships could support distribution if products are ultimately launched.
Agreement Remains Non-Binding
AsiaStrategy said the proposed tokenization business would sit alongside its Bitcoin treasury and digital-asset pledging operations. The company expects any future platform to generate revenue from structuring, distribution and related platform fees rather than solely from deploying its own balance sheet.
The memorandum does not guarantee that a joint venture or tokenized product will be launched. The companies also said any resulting distribution would exclude U.S. persons unless applicable regulatory requirements are satisfied.
