How BNB Supply and Burn Metrics Are Calculated
BNB supply figures combine current market-provider data with official BNB Chain burn records. Coin Insider uses these figures to calculate progress toward the 100 million BNB Auto-Burn target and the amount of supply remaining above it. Values update as the underlying sources change and may differ slightly between providers because circulating supply and total supply follow different definitions.
SUPPLY DATA
Load the Current Supply Figures
Circulating supply comes from Coin Insider’s selected market-data provider. Total supply comes from an official or verifiable BNB Chain source and represents existing BNB that has not been permanently removed through burns. Transfers between BNB Smart Chain, opBNB and BNB Greenfield do not create additional BNB and must not be counted as new supply.
COMPLETED BURNS
Load Verified Burn Records
Quarterly Auto-Burn amounts and completion dates come from official BNB Foundation announcements or their corresponding on-chain transactions. Real-time BEP-95 figures are taken from verifiable gas-fee burn data. Only completed burns are included. Estimated future quarterly burns are not added to the reported supply reduction.
TARGET PROGRESS
Calculate the Remaining Reduction
Burn-target progress compares the current total supply with BNB’s original 200 million supply and the Auto-Burn target of 100 million BNB. The remaining amount is calculated by subtracting 100 million BNB from the current total supply. These calculations update whenever the underlying total-supply figure changes.
Circulating and Total Supply
Circulating supply estimates how much BNB is available to the market. Total supply includes all existing BNB that has not been permanently burned. The two figures may differ because some BNB can be locked, reserved or otherwise excluded by a provider’s circulating-supply methodology.
Quarterly and Real-Time Burns
Auto-Burn removes BNB through completed quarterly events based on a defined formula. BEP-95 separately burns a portion of BNB Smart Chain gas fees as blocks are produced. Neither mechanism is a halving, and BNB does not issue new mining rewards.
Supply and burn figures may update at different times and can vary between providers. Quarterly burn amounts are shown only after official completion and should not be treated as forecasts.
