Apple and Google Seek Stablecoin and Tokenization Expertise in New Roles
- Apple and Google are recruiting senior employees with expertise in stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain infrastructure.
- Apple is hiring an Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead, and Google Cloud is seeking a Web3 architect in Hong Kong.
- Neither company has announced a new stablecoin or consumer crypto product.
Apple and Google are recruiting senior employees with experience in stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain infrastructure. Apple’s opening sits within its payment’s strategy organization, while Google Cloud is seeking a Web3 architect focused on institutional digital assets across Asia-Pacific. Neither company has announced a new stablecoin or consumer crypto product.
Apple Adds Stablecoin Knowledge to Payments Strategy Role
Apple is hiring an Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead to work with its Apple Card and Apple Cash teams. The position covers consumer credit cards, peer-to-peer transfers, stored value and other financial products connected to Apple Pay.
The company lists understanding of stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain technology among the role’s preferred qualifications. Responsibilities include assessing new product structures, commercial models and potential partnerships, but the posting does not identify a blockchain product under development.
Google Cloud Role Targets Institutional Web3
Google Cloud is separately hiring an Industry Principal Architect, Web3 in Hong Kong. The role requires experience building or operating production-grade Web3 systems alongside broader enterprise architecture experience.
Google lists real-world asset tokenization, stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits and regulated custody architectures among the institutional use cases candidates should understand. The employee will work with protocol foundations, exchanges, custodians and financial institutions while helping influence Google Cloud’s Web3 product roadmap.
Google Already Operates Tokenization Infrastructure
Google Cloud has also been developing infrastructure for digital-asset use cases. Its Universal Ledger is currently in preview and is designed to help financial institutions build payment services, tokenize assets and manage transfers of tokenized commercial bank money through distributed-ledger infrastructure.
Google also designed its Agent Payments Protocol, or AP2, to support multiple payment methods, including stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. The company donated AP2 to the FIDO Alliance earlier this year to support development of the protocol as an open industry standard.
Job Listings Stop Short of Confirming New Products
The two openings involve different uses of digital-asset expertise. Google’s position directly supports institutional Web3 customers and infrastructure, while Apple lists blockchain knowledge as one qualification for a broader consumer-payments strategy position.
Apple’s posting does not say the company plans to issue a stablecoin, add crypto transfers to Apple Cash or launch tokenized deposits. Google’s listing similarly focuses on cloud infrastructure and customer use cases rather than announcing a Google-issued digital asset.
