Hunter Biden Sets LAPTOP Memecoin Launch for Sept.9 With TRUMP-Loss Airdrop

Hunter Biden is preparing to launch a memecoin called LAPTOP on Base on Sept. 9, using the controversy surrounding his laptop as the project’s theme. The token’s first airdrop reserves part of its supply for users with negative profit and loss on President Donald Trump’s TRUMP memecoin.

LAPTOP Launch Is Scheduled for Sept. 9

Biden teased the launch on X on Sept. 7, posting “$LAPTOP” and the Sept. 9 date alongside a video referencing coverage of his laptop. The project’s website lists an official Base contract address and says exchange listings will be announced at launch.

The website showed purchasing and airdrop claiming as “coming soon” as of Sept. 8. Its terms identify Phoenix Veritas Ventures Ltd., a British Virgin Islands company, as the technical issuer of LAPTOP.

TRUMP Losses Qualify for Part of Airdrop

LAPTOP has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, with 20% allocated across its initial and future airdrops. The first distribution accounts for 10% of supply, while another 10% is reserved for a future airdrop.

Project disclosures allocate 2% of total supply, or 20 million tokens, to users meeting negative-P&L criteria for TRUMP. Participating exchanges and retail applications will determine how eligible users receive those tokens.

Another 4% of total supply is assigned to eligible subscribers of Biden’s “Where’s Hunter” Substack. A further 4% is reserved for subscribers to video journalist Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5 mailing list.

Founders Receive 30% as Predictions Control Another 30%

The founding group, including Biden, has been allocated 30% of LAPTOP’s supply. Those tokens are subject to lockup and vesting conditions, while another 30% is linked to 30 predetermined real-world events.

The event allocations vary rather than dividing the supply into equal 1% blocks. For example, the project assigns 3% of supply to whether Trump is impeached during his term, 2.75% to whether Democrats win the House in 2026 and 1% to whether Bitcoin reaches a new all-time high.

The project says tokens linked to events that occur will be burned. Allocations tied to outcomes that do not occur are designated for charity under the applicable release schedule.

Project Says LAPTOP Carries No Ownership Rights

The project describes LAPTOP as a memecoin created for entertainment and community participation. Its terms state that the token provides no equity, ownership, debt, profit-sharing, revenue-sharing, voting or redemption rights.

The issuer also makes no promise about future price, liquidity, or exchange availability. The website says at least 5% of total supply is separately committed to charity, in addition to prediction-linked tokens that may ultimately be donated.
