Hong Kong-listed Bitfire Group has launched a crypto quantitative strategy for professional and institutional investors as it expands its real-world asset business across asset management, trading, market-making and custody.

Bitfire describes the product as Hong Kong’s first compliant crypto asset quantitative strategy. The company also said global assets under management that contribute to profit, including BitTrade’s asset management services in Japan, have exceeded HK$2 billion, up 851% from before its strategic restructuring in August 2025.

Strategy Targets Market-Neutral Crypto and AI Arbitrage

Bitfire said the strategy will use RWA structures to target market-neutral arbitrage opportunities across crypto and AI-related assets.

Returns generated through the strategy are intended to be packaged into asset management products for professional and institutional investors. Bitfire says the approach is designed to reduce direct exposure to underlying market volatility rather than rely primarily on directional price gains.

The company has not disclosed target returns, fees, minimum investment requirements, performance history or how much capital has already been allocated to the strategy.

RWA Model Spans Asset Management, Trading, and Custody

Bitfire plans to connect crypto-native assets, tokenized U.S. equities and traditional alternative assets through its expanded RWA business.

The operating model is built around three areas: RWA asset management, trading and market-making, and custody. Bitfire said it intends to operate across both issuance and secondary-market activity rather than focus solely on tokenizing traditional assets.

Bitfire’s website says its Hong Kong asset-management subsidiary holds SFC Type 1, Type 4 and Type 9 licenses, while other Bitfire Group entities are not licensed by the SFC. The launch announcement does not identify which specific group entity will offer the new quantitative products.

Quant Trading Segment Held $145.6M in March

Bitfire’s latest interim report shows that its existing quantitative trading business had approximately $145.6 million in AUM as of March 31. The segment managed two funds focused on a digital asset treasury company and quantitative arbitrage strategies.

Bitfire separately said it has added nearly 2,000 cumulative new clients since its August 2025 restructuring and that its profit-contributing AUM has risen 851% over that period.

The company has not disclosed how much of that wider asset base is tied to the newly launched strategy or identified the RWA products that will underpin it.
