Strategy Raises $334M But Buys No Bitcoin
Strategy raised $333.7 million by selling Class A common stock between August 10 and August 16 but made no Bitcoin purchases or sales, leaving its holdings unchanged at 840,447 BTC, according to an 8-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company used $52.4 million of the proceeds for dividends on its variable-rate Stretch preferred stock, or STRC, another $132.2 million for STRC repurchases and $149.1 million to increase its USD Reserve.
Strategy Sells 3.46M MSTR Shares and Raises $333.7M
Strategy sold 3,458,866 MSTR shares through its at-the-market program during the week. It did not issue any STRF, STRC, STRK or STRD preferred shares during the period. The company repurchased 1,388,720 STRC shares for $132.2 million. Another $52.4 million of MSTR proceeds funded STRC dividends.
Strategy added the remaining $149.1 million to its USD Reserve, taking the balance to $4.80 billion as of August 16. The reserve includes expected proceeds from ATM shares that had been sold but had not yet settled.
Bitcoin Holdings Remain at 840,447 BTC After Prior $108.6M Sale
Strategy bought and sold no Bitcoin during the latest reporting week. Its treasury remains at 840,447 BTC acquired for an aggregate $63.36 billion, including fees and expenses, at an average cost of $75,385 per coin.
The pause follows the previous week, when Strategy sold 1,690 BTC for $108.6 million at an average net price of $64,262. The company used those proceeds to repurchase 1,152,020 STRC shares.
Strategy adopted its Digital Credit Capital Framework in June, introducing policies covering its USD Reserve, preferred-security repurchases, MSTR repurchases and Bitcoin monetization.
$653M Remains Available for Preferred-Share Repurchases
Strategy has $653 million remaining under its $1 billion Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program. A separate $1 billion authorization for MSTR share repurchases also remains available.
The company also had about $21.70 billion of remaining MSTR issuance capacity as of August 16.
Strategy ended the week with 840,447 BTC and a $4.80 billion USD Reserve after directing all $333.7 million of new MSTR proceeds toward STRC obligations, preferred-share repurchases and the reserve rather than Bitcoin purchases.
